tell us a story

La Malvasia di Milano

In 2018 Leonardo's Vineyard was harvested for the first time, as result of the University of Milan's scientific project. On the 12th of September 2018 its grapes were harvested and allowed to ferment in an underground earthenware jar, using the ancient Greek-Roman method.

La Malvasia di Candia Aromatica - Anno I - was contained into exclusive 330 Decanter inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s sketch in a rebus of the Windsor Code present at the folio 12.690 and produced by Alberto Alessi in his winery Cascina Eugenia. The Decantes are progressively numbered and sealed with guarantee stamp and wax lacquer. The first of 330 pieces will rest at the museum below the beautiful celing painted by Bernardino Luini, as symbol of eternal union between Leonardo and the city of Milan.
